Background
Dr. Mills is a clinical health psychologist, which is a psychologist who works with people with medical disorders.  During her training at Temple University in Philadelphia, she worked for two years at Temple Hospital’s heart transplant unit, which at that time was the largest of its kind in the country.  Following her training, she served for over 5 years as the Director of Psychosocial Oncology at Rush University Medical Center, where she retains an appointment and continues to teach psychology interns and medical residents.  Currently, her client list includes people who have been diagnosed with cancer, heart failure, multiple sclerosis, HIV, Crohn’s disease, and fibromyalgia.  She also works with families of patients to aid in communication, coping with illness, caregiving stress, and grief. Dr. Mills is a Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Illinois preferred provider and a qualified Medicare provider.
