Dr Judith K Stuhr

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Stuhr received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. Currently, she has a private practice as well as an appointment at Rush University Medical Center in the Behavioral Sciences. At Rush, she serves as the primary care behavioral health psychologist and consultant for Lifetime Medical Associates, and continues to teach psychology interns and post-doctoral students, as well as residents and fellows in the Department of Medicine.

Currently, Dr. Stuhr uses an integrative (mind-body-spirit) model to help clients find their strengths to face and effectively cope with life’s difficulties and transitions. She primarily uses a mixture of cognitive behavioral, interpersonal, and emotionally-focused approaches with mindfulness and relaxation techniques interspersed as needed, and will work with clients to integrate therapy within the context of their spiritual views if they express an interest in doing so. Dr. Stuhr is also certified in clinical hypnosis. She works with adults and adolescents and teaches parents how to more effectively work with their children. For clients coping with medical illness, Dr. Stuhr works collaboratively with the clients’ medical team when appropriate.
