Dr. Michael Athans is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist practicing for over 30 years. Dr. Athans received his Master’s Degree from Columbia University, NY, and his doctorate from Michigan State University. He completed a clinical child psychology internship at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center, as well as two post-doctoral degrees at the University of Chicago and the Family Institute of Northwestern University Medical School. Dr. Athans is also Chief of Psychology, Department of Psychiatry at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. He works with children, adolescents, and families. Particular interests include, but are not limited to: Attention deficit, anxieties, the strong-willed child, psychological factors effecting medical conditions, medical compliance, encopresis, parenting, stress and health management.
