Alexander Adam Eschbach, Ph.D. has been a licensed clinical psychologist in the State of IL for over 25 years. He had served as the Rehabilitation / Neuropsychologist at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago’s Alexian Brothers facility in Elk Grove Village, IL from 1988 – 1999. Prior to his leaving RIC@ABMC, he had incorporated Northwest Neuropsychology in 1998. Since then, he has seen medical and psychiatric patients initially at his Hoffman Estates office and currently at his Schaumburg office on the northeast corner of Woodfield and Plum Grove Roads. Patients range in age from 6 to 90s. Evaluations are conducted for those diagnosed with ADD, learning disability, “spectrum” disorders, traumatic brain injury, and other neurological disorders. Patients are screened prior to neurostimulator implants, bariatric surgery, and other medical procedures. In addition to well-established cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy procedures, traditional biofeedback and more avantgarde applied psychophysiology services are offered, including heart rate variability training and neurofeedback. Dr. Eschbach has been serving as the Center Mental Health Consultant for the Department of Labor’s Chicago Job Corps for over 14 years. For the past five years, he has served also a “medical expert” — the term used by the Social Security Administration — as a psychologist who advises federal administrative law judges for the SSA’s Office of Adjudication and Review.
